Every month we host a series of regular online events for all those affected by cavernoma.  Meet, chat and share experiences with others who can really understand you!  We also welcome guest speakers throughout the year to discuss topics related to cavernoma – keep an eye on our calendar for more info.

‘Predicting familial cavernoma progressions with biomarkers’ with Dr Francesca Lazzaroni, Associate Professor Peetra Magnusson and colleagues

Dr Francesca Lazzaroni is a Post Doctorate Researcher at Ospedale Policliinico di Milano (Hospital of Milan) and recently published a research paper titled ‘Circulating biomarkers in familial cavernous malformation’ available here

Peetra Magnusson is a vascular biologist at Uppsala University, Sweden who is focusing on vascular malformations, specifically CCM. Dr. Magnusson is a co-author in the publication on CCM biomarkers published in in eBioMedicine to be presented during this webinar by Dr. Francesca Lazzaroni. 

This talk will cover the exciting lab-based research emerging in respect of biomarkers, and the potential to use this research in clinical practice to predict the progression of familial cavernoma.  This talk will last 40 minutes followed by a 20 minute Q&A.
