Brain Awareness Week Events for you to attend
Cavernoma Alliance UK has two events planned for Brain Awareness week which occurs 15th to 21st March, 2010. One event takes place on 16 March at Neurosupport, Liverpool (tbc) with Mr Mohsen Javadpour, consultant neurosurgeon, at The Walton Centre. The other lecture is on 20th March 2010, 10am - 1pm, Old Boardroom, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. CA UK is fortunate indeed to have Mr. Andrew McEvoy, consultant neurosurgeon at the National, presenting a talk on cavernomas and epilepsy (epilepsy is a special interest of Mr. McEvoy's). Tabitha Bushill, now a board member of Cavernoma Alliance UK, who had an awake craniotomy for a cavernoma removal under Mr. McEvoy in November, will be introducing this gifted surgeon.
A rare opportunity to hear Mr. McEvoy, attendance is a must for all members of CA UK and other interested parties, who live in London or further afield. Coffee and pastries will be served in the Old Boardroom at 10am courtesy of the hospital and our talk will be finished by 1pm. There is no charge for this event.
RSVP to us via email or phone 01305 213876 by 1st March, 2010 to guarantee your place or simply turn up on the day. But if you do this, be prepared for disappointment as the seating (and pastries) for this event are limited.
The day after Mr. McEvoy's lecture is the Reading half marathon. Two brave members (one of them a board member) will be running for CA UK. Please plan on attending to give the runners your support. And/or attend the 2010 London marathon on 25th April where Mr. Kitchen, our senior medical adviser and consultant neurosurgeon, will be running 50% for our benefit and 50% for the Development Foundation, National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
